St. Francis Hall Wedding | Drew + Taylor | Washington DC wedding photographer

It was a pleasure photographing this beautiful couple at St. Francis Hall in Washington DC! These two were high school sweethearts! :) The wedding day was filled with love and joy! His brother was his Best Man, but couldn’t make to the wedding because he was deployed. So a unique thing that they did, was to make a cut out board of him!! hahah so clever right? ;) Also what a beautiful venue to get married in!

Amanda & Jordan’s wedding day in the West Virginia mountains was what dreams are made of & working with them has been a dream as well! From consultation to their wedding day Amanda knew exactly what she wanted and had this calm approach to wedding planning. Maybe because she is an event designer or that she was being distracted by the show “The Bachelorette” (haha we were all so happy to see that we each were avid watchers and predictors of the show. Fun-fact: Jordan has predicted the last 2-3 seasons’ outcomes perfectly), but whatever it was we loved that this beautiful bride kept calm all the way through!

Everything about their wedding was all done by those they love. Their greenhouse like reception venue was built by Amanda’s family, and my God! it is absolutely beautiful there!! They got married inside her childhood church. Her wedding gown was made by her aunt, designs were all done by her and her work colleagues, and so pretty much everything else was made or done by others they love.

Their wedding theme was shades of blue with a touch of gold, and my goodness was this theme perfectly executed! From her bridesmaids dusty blue dresses, to the groomsmen navy blue suits, to the blue & gold accents through out her reception venue.

We honestly can go on forever gushing over how stunning and perfect these two are, or how gorgeous their wedding day was. But our biggest take away from everything, is how in love these two really are and how loved they are by those around them.

Amanda and Jordan we are sure you have heard this a million times, but we will say it again. You two are perfect for each other! it has been such a pleasure being a part of your wedding process & day! We only hope to blessed by more amazing couples like you two! We wish you both nothing but love and laughter throughout your marriage & we pray that God continues to bless and guide you two for the rest of your lives together!

PS. We can’t wait to see if Jordan’s predictions for this years bachelorette was right too! :)

From the moment Megan contacted us to photograph her and her Hubby's wedding photos in Strong Mansion Maryland, we were extremely excited! Although we have done shoots like this before, we were so excited because we were just thinking how we havent had one this year. It rained cats and dogs on this gorgeous couple's wedding day, and they unfortunately were unable to get the wedding portraits they wanted with their previous photographer. She explained what exactly she was looking for and was so sweet through out our emails back and forth! We kept counting down the days for this shoot, and almost got discouraged when we checked the weather forecast and saw that it was to rain AGAIN on their session date. .

We could tell Megan was pretty bummed by this, but we encouraged her to keep hope alive!  We were still about a week and half out so the weather could change, and even if it didnt we can always reschedule. But boy are we glad we waited before we rescheduled, because the weather, sun rays and everything was just PERFECT! We couldnt have asked for a better evening and a better couple to photograph!

They were high school sweethearts and their schools prom king and queen, been together for 12 years and have been married for a month and few days now, yet they are still over each other like honeymooners! They honestly look like they belong in a fairy tale story book with Strong Mansion as their castle and Sugarloaf Mountain as the kingdom they rule, hahaha!

We are firm believers in the saying "everything happens for a reason" and cant imagine not meeting these two and taking these images. We are so thankful to the rain that fell on their wedding day, because if it didn't , we wouldn't have met this amazingly sweet and stunning couple! We know we say this for every couple, but truly God has blessed us with amazing couples that make our "job" SO EASY!

We wish a Happily Ever After to our real life Disney Prince & Princess! haha ;)
